Cameroon is aptly called as “Africa in miniature†for its parched stretch in the North through its grasslands across its center and to the intense rain forest in the South. Despite surrounded with some of the most politically problematic countries Cameroon is a dream destination for any one in quest of beauty and diversity. Cameroon boasts of a geological and cultural diversity. Home to over 200 different ethnic and linguistic groups, the country is one of the most culturally diverse nations on the continent, its people include ancient tribal kingdoms, Muslim pastoralists and forest-dwelling pygmies. Cameroon is also popular for its mesmerizing shrines and temples that bring back the essence of a prosperous ancient heritage. For the fun lovers, Cameroon is well known for its local styles of music, mainly makossa and bikutsi, and for its successful national football team – the unconquerable Lions.
While you are in Cameroon you can get involved in a host of activities like Hiking, Rock Climbing, Wildlife watching, Explore Bénoué National Park, Bouba Ndjidah National Park, Waza National Park and Korup National Park, Climbing Mount Cameroon, Interact with Cameroon’s forest natives, Visit the culture rich town of Foumban, Explore the village of Rhumsiki, Kalamaloué Reserve and celebrate local festivals.
Despite the wealth of natural beauty it is bestowed with, Poverty impairs much of Cameroon’s infrastructure.
